Photography and Photoshop Day Courses for Gîte, Chambre d’Hôte and Hotel Owners

Doing it for you!

Giving you the skills

Depending on your ability and confidence with a camera, this can be over 1 or 2 days.

The 1 day workshop assumes you are pretty competent with your camera and covers technical areas such as shooting in Raw, getting the right colour balance, exposure, double exposures, mixed lighting, using flash, using a tripod and cable release. In Photoshop, we look at correcting colour balance, brightness and contrast, correcting converging verticals (keystoning), working in layers and outputting the finished images.

From an aesthetic point of view, we look at preparing the area - whether inside or out), composition, perspective, camera placement, room layout and correct use of props.

If you do not feel you have the confidence to undertake the above in one day, we suggest you precede this with our one day workshop in Digital SLR Photography. (Please click here for more details)

This workshop is run on a one to one basis. Cost is €175, including a light lunch, or €325 for 2 days.
Accommodation can be supplied at a special DBB rate.

First impressions count, and with consumers having an even wider choice of destinations, the image you portray will make all the difference.

Your photography can make or break your potential customers decisions. No matter how good your offering actually is, poor visual presentation can take you off their short list.

To help you get it right, we offer a number of options to help you get the right images, from Ian doing the photography for you, to Ian giving you the knowledge to doing the photography yourself.

If you do not have the confidence to do it yourself, you can commission Ian to come and take the photographs of your premises for you. Ian has been photographing hotels, restaurants and bars in the UK for over 25 years, and still returns regularly to the UK for clients. These include Best Western, Premier Inn, Beefeater, Wetherspoons and a significant number of privately owned and run hotels and restaurants.

If you wish to go this route, call Ian for a quotation on 06 04 41 50 60.

Dates can be flexible, please email us with your interest and we will get right back to you.

“A fantastic workshop, great hospitality and lovely people. I learned so much that will benefit my business and can't wait to put it all into practice. Ian is extremely knowledgable, very talented and a great teacher. I highly recommend. Thanks Ian and Fen!”

“Ian is a very patient, professional and thoughtful teacher and at the end of those two days I really felt that I had been given a large box, full of tools and ideas, to take home and start playing with. Ian’s photography course delivered everything and more than was expected. Fen’s hospitality delivered everything and more than was expected. A wonderful 2 days, thanks to you both. I will be back” - Nigel McKinley - The Belvedere B&B, Quarante
